- Vitamin D Levels
Why We Do Them:
The Obesity Panel is designed to assess the underlying health impacts of excess body weight. BMI calculation determines the degree of obesity, while lipid profile checks cholesterol levels, which are often elevated in obesity and increase the risk of heart disease. FBS and HbA1C tests evaluate blood sugar control, which helps in diagnosing prediabetes or diabetes. Thyroid function is tested because an underactive thyroid can contribute to weight gain. LFT and KFT are important to monitor the health of the liver and kidneys, which can be affected by obesity. Vitamin D levels are also checked, as deficiencies are common in individuals with obesity.
