Description
- Pap Smear
- HPV (Human Papillomavirus) Test
- Colposcopy (if needed)
- Biopsy (if needed)
Why We Do Them:
Cervical Cancer Screening is essential for early detection and prevention of cervical cancer. The Pap smear test identifies abnormal or precancerous changes in cervical cells, helping to detect cancer at an early stage. The HPV test screens for high-risk strains of the virus that are responsible for the majority of cervical cancers. If abnormalities are found, a colposcopy may be performed to closely examine the cervix, and a biopsy may be taken to confirm the presence of cancerous or precancerous cells. Early detection through regular screening can significantly reduce the risk of cervical cancer progression.
